We have significant experience in representing institutions, developers, corporate clients and others in all aspects of complex real estate transactions – including acquisitions, joint ventures, sale-leasebacks, financing, development and syndications, reorganization transactions, workouts and bankruptcy, as well as the leasing and sale of a broad range of real property such as shopping centers, hotels, undeveloped land, industrial parks, mixed-use properties and multi-family and single-family housing.
We also represent banking institutions and other institutional and non-institutional lenders engaged in senior financing and mezzanine financing in connection with the acquisition, development and operation of real property. The firm often advises clients on Section 1031 exchanges, including forward and reverse exchanges. Further, the firm is regularly engaged by clients to prepare and negotiate documents pertaining to development projects, including construction contracts, other AIA forms and complex joint-venture agreements.
The firm is involved in counseling, investigating and litigating real estate-related matters for its clients throughout New York. These matters include contractual disputes, voidable conveyances, debtor and creditor law, priority of liens, bankruptcy, specific performance actions, foreclosure proceedings, mechanic’s lien issues and enforcement of judgments.
