Joel L. Morgenthau is a partner in the firm’s Corporate Practice Group and resides in the firm’s Manhattan office.
Mr. Morgenthau has extensive experience representing privately held and public companies, as well as entrepreneurs and high net worth individuals. He specializes in the negotiation and preparation of agreements relating to the purchase, sale and merger of companies, including related shareholder, operating, employment and consulting agreements. Mr. Morgenthau has played a key role in helping startup and established companies to expand, organically and through acquisitions.
Mr. Morgenthau has been appointed to serve on the Board of Directors of Northeast Community Bancorp, Inc., a two-billion-dollar public company, and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Northeast Community Bank, which makes a variety of loans throughout New York, Massachusetts and New Jersey. He has also served on the board of directors of other public and private companies.
As a result of his representation of high net worth individuals and successful entrepreneurs, Mr. Morgenthau has a sub-specialty in planning with respect to trusts and estates. He has served as executor and trustee for estates and trusts, and as counsel to those entities.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Morgenthau was founding partner of a boutique law firm that was established in 1985 in New York City.
