Landlord & Tenant
Enforcing our clients’ rights with a creative, yet business-minded approach.
Our Landlord & Tenant group represents commercial and residential landlords, co-op and condo boards, tenant associations, and tenants including proprietary lease tenants, in their disputes over rent, lease violations, privacy, nuisance, repairs, security, lease terms and other issues.
We regularly appear before the New York City Civil Court, New York State Supreme Court, the United States Bankruptcy Court and the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR).
In addition to non-payment and holdover proceedings, we prosecute luxury decontrol proceedings, rent registration disputes, rent overcharge complaints, fair market rent appeals, reduction of services, and harassment claims.
We also defend and challenge Administrative Ruling by Petition for Administrative Review (PAR), as well as Article 78 proceedings in the New York State Supreme Court.
Furthermore, we appear before the Environmental Control Board and New York City Criminal Court, and defend against code violations issued by the Department of Buildings, the Department of Sanitation, the Department of Environmental Protection and the New York City Fire Department.
Our firm strives to obtain the best results for our clients. Where appropriate, we will settle such disputes in the court’s resolution part or in arbitration. However, when a trial is advisable, we bring experience and a well-deserved reputation as aggressive litigators.
