Dan Lust

Dan Lust has a multi-faceted practice which straddles the transactional and litigation arenas, with his clients primarily originating in the sports and entertainment realm. Mr. Lust began his professional career working for the New York Giants (2008–2012) and has parlayed this experience into a practice working with professional and collegiate athletes, musicians, entertainers, and influencers in connection with their commercial transactions. Beyond the deal-making, Mr. Lust serves as a strategic connector for his clients, providing high-level coordination with specialized professionals across the wealth management, trusts and estates, and insurance sectors to ensure their commercial interests are fully integrated with their long-term strategies. Mr. Lust is also called upon by businesses and institutions to advise on regulatory and corporate issues, and continues to handle litigation and arbitration matters for well-known celebrities, leagues, and Fortune 500 companies.

His clients are well served by his specific attention to topics at the cutting edge of sports, entertainment, and law. Mr. Lust has provided analysis to a large audience through his countless appearances on major media and legal platforms such as ESPN, Fox Sports, Sports Business Journal, USA Today, Fox Business, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Front Office Sports, The Athletic, CBS Sports, American Bar Association, New York Law Journal, Law & Crime, and Court TV. Mr. Lust is a frequent guest lecturer in law schools and colleges across the country, speaking to some at some of the most prestigious institutions in the country such as Harvard Law School, Columbia Law School, University of Pennsylvania Law School, Georgetown Law School, and NYU Law School. He presently hosts his own his weekly podcast “Conduct Detrimental: THE Sports Law Podcast”, which has become one of the more well-known legal podcasts in the legal world with over 500,000 lifetime downloads. He also teaches his own “Sports Law” as an adjunct professor at both New York Law School and Pace Law School where 100+ students pass through his classroom each year. Mr. Lust has achieved particular notoriety within college sports as he was recognized by On3 Sports as one of 50 leading college sports voices. He was also tapped as the co-author of the “College Sports Law in a Nutshell” series, which documents the development of laws and rules specific to the collegiate sports realm over the last half century and forecasts trends moving forward.
