Leslie A. Berkoff, Esq. Selected To LI’s Top 50 Most Influential Women In Business & Hall Of Fame

Garden City, New York; May 7, 2012—  Leslie A. Berkoff, a partner of the firm, has been selected by Long Island Business News as a member of its Top 50 Most Influential Women In Business for 2012.  In addition, Ms. Berkoff will also be inducted into the Top 50 Most Influential Women’s Hall of Fame. Members of the Hall of Fame are three-time honorees who exemplify the level of professional achievement, mentoring and community involvement the Top 50 awards are designed to recognize and promote.  Ms. Berkoff will be honored at a Gala Awards Dinner on May 17, 2012 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.

Ms. Berkoff is a partner at Moritt Hock & Hamroff LLP where she also serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s Litigation and Bankruptcy practice groups.  She concentrates her practice in the area of bankruptcy and restructuring litigation and corporate workouts, and she represents a variety of corporate debtors, trustees, creditors and creditor committees both nationally and locally.  Ms. Berkoff served as Chair of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) from 2004-2008 and served on its Board of Directors for over ten years.  She also served as Co-Chair of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Healthcare Insolvency Committee from 2008-2011 and is currently head of Special Projects for that Committee, as well as Co-Editor of its Healthcare Bankruptcy Manual, Second Edition. In addition, Ms. Berkoff currently serves on the Strategic Planning Committee for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the E.D.N.Y. and is an active member of the Nassau County Bar Association and a past Chair of its Bankruptcy Committee. She also serves on the Board of Editors of Pratt’s Journal of Bankruptcy Law.  Ms. Berkoff earned her J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law.
