Kelly D. Schneid is an associate with the firm concentrating her practice on employment matters and commercial litigation. Ms. Schneid’s employment practice focuses on helping businesses develop best practices, keeping in mind well-settled requirements, new laws, agency interpretations of these new laws, and judicial precedent, all of which impact employer-employee relations. She has extensive experience drafting employment contracts, preparing severance agreements, and counseling clients on discrete issues involving workplace discrimination, harassment, restrictive covenants, termination, employee discipline, reductions in force, and wage-hour standards. She has overseen employment matters at all stages of a dispute including exploring pre-litigation resolutions, aggressively pursuing litigation, and negotiating settlements.
Ms. Schneid’s commercial litigation practice focuses on contract disputes and business torts. Ms. Schneid works with small and large companies alike to ensure that they have business structures and contracts in place that are compliant with applicable laws and limit risk exposure. She has litigated in state court, federal court, and arbitral forums. She has experience in all stages of the litigation process including commencing actions, seeking emergency judicial intervention, engaging in discovery, preparing substantive and procedural motions, and drafting settlement agreements. She also has substantial appellate experience briefing complex, novel issues and arguing motions to secure interim relief.
