Conflicts Analyst

We are seeking a reliable team player with excellent analytical skills, who possesses technological proficiency and works well under pressure. Must be detailed oriented, organized and possess great communication skills (both verbal and written) as this position requires communication with both attorneys and administrative staff on a daily basis. Prior law firm experience preferable but will consider training a candidate with proven experience that can be drawn upon to be a successful Conflicts Analyst.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and process all of the Firm’s conflict check requests necessary to engage new clients or new matters; coordinate conflict check emails and responses; search clients and other parties named through the Firm’s databases.  Responsible for the accuracy, thoroughness, and completeness, both current and historical, of all searches.
  • Review and analyze search results; identify any possible conflicts; when necessary, initiate communications to discuss results with attorneys and management for resolution.
  • Ensure any conflict-of-interest issues are resolved including obtaining documentation such as declination correspondence; waivers; ethical wall placement and any other processes required. Generate all conflict check clearance email communications.
  • Process new matter forms ensuring completeness; review engagement letters for consistency; verify compliance with Firm policies and applicable procedures.  Monitor submissions which need additional approvals such as pro-bono matters, fiduciary appointments, etc.
  • Coordinate the new matter intake process including but not limited to data entry into the Firm’s systems; confirming the accuracy of information and completeness.  Create and distribute paper files per attorney preferences; digitize searchable new matter sheets, conflict check clearance forms and any other supporting attachments in the Firm’s DMS (document management system).
  • Handle requests for revisions to existing client and matter level records (including verification and any research necessary).
  • Monitor engagement letter status spreadsheet, verify engagement letters on file and follow up for fully executed client engagement letters with originating attorneys.

The salary for this position will range from $50K to $60K annually, based upon experience.
