Commercial Litigation Attorney (First-Chair Jury Trial) (Plantation Office)
We are seeking a Commercial Litigation Attorney with significant first-chair jury trial experience to join our Litigation practice. The role will focus on complex commercial litigation matters, including business disputes, real estate litigation, trust and estate disputes, and other high-stakes commercial matters. The ideal candidate will have experience serving as first-chair in jury trials, independently managing cases from inception through verdict. Candidates with a portable book of business are strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Serve as first-chair counsel in complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts
- Independently manage cases from inception through trial, including strategy, pleadings, discovery, and motion practice
- Conduct jury trials, including voir dire, opening statements, witness examinations, and closing arguments
- Advise clients on litigation strategy, risk assessment, and dispute resolution options
- Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings
- Contribute to client development and maintain existing client relationships
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- License to practice law in good standing in Florida
- Significant experience in commercial litigation with demonstrated first-chair jury trial experience; proven ability to independently manage and fully prepare cases for trial
- Experience handling complex business, contract, real estate, probate, or similar commercial disputes
- Portable book of business strongly preferred
- Must possess strong courtroom presence and advocacy skills
- Exceptional drafting, analytical, and strategic thinking abilities
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with attorneys across practice areas
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact directly with clients and counterparties
