Damaso W. Saavedra concentrates his practice in all aspects of corporate and commercial transactional law, including general aviation-related transactions, asset-based mergers and acquisitions, land development, business transactions, and real estate law, including transactions associated with the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and Costa Rica.

Mr. Saavedra advises his clients on business formation (corporation, LLC, LLP, and partnership(s)), as well as debt finance and refinancing, strategic real estate opportunities, and transactions involving domestic representation of international clients. He represents clients in general aviation/fixed-base operations, associated airport ground leases, and ownership structures, in compliance with applicable aviation regulations and guidelines.

His practice has included general real estate acquisitions. financing, sale, and other dispositions of residential properties, condominiums and cooperatives (co-ops), and office buildings. Mr. Saavedra also advises on trusts, probate, and estate litigation, with an emphasis on fiduciary liability arising from breaches of those duties.

During his career, Mr. Saavedra has represented sellers, purchasers, and lenders in approximately $7.2 billion in cumulative corporate acquisitions and real estate transactions, including asset-based acquisitions, land development transactions, complex commercial refinancings, and long-term leasehold and sublease financing(s). Mr. Saavedra recently represented a privately held corporate conglomerate as outside lead transactional counsel on a $640 million Senior Syndicated Credit Facility with tax-exempt bond features (including an additional $125 million future advance accordion).

Mr. Saavedra also serves as outside corporate counsel in Florida, Connecticut, and New York to U.S., EU, Canadian, Caribbean, and Central and South American clients related to transactions in the United States and abroad.
