Leslie A. Berkoff Is Named One Of Long Island’s Rising Stars Under The Age of 40

Garden City, New York; December 21, 2004— Leslie A. Berkoff, a partner in the Garden City law firm of Moritt Hock Hamroff & Horowitz LLP has been selected as a member of the 2005 Class of the 40 under 40 by Long Island Business News.

The 40 under 40 awards are presented each year by Long Island Business News to forty individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in professional, civic and charitable endeavors on Long Island.  This year’s winners will be honored at a special awards breakfast on January 25, 2005 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.

Ms. Berkoff is a partner in the firm’s Bankrupcty and Creditors’ Rights practice group where she concentrates her practice in the area of bankruptcy, litigation, corporate transactions and corporate workouts and represents a variety of corporate debtors, trustees, creditors and creditors’ committees.  She has also served as a mediator, court appointed examiner and guardian in several bankruptcy cases and is a former Chair of the Bankruptcy Committee for the Nassau Bar Association.  In addition to her professional endeavors, Ms. Berkoff is involved in numerous civic and charitable organizations within the Long Island community and presently serves as President for the Long Island Women’s Agenda (LIWA).  Ms. Berkoff is also the Chair of the Board of Directors of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC).  As a recognized leader in her field, she was honored as one of Long Island’s Top 50 Women in 2004 by Long Island Business News and as one of Hofstra University School of Law’s Distinguished Alumni of 2004.
