Human Resources Assistant (Garden City Office)

We are seeking a Human Resource and Practice Group Assistant for our Garden City office.  Responsibilities include:

Payroll

  • Review or Processing all payrolls for MHH; including but not limited to the semi-monthly payroll
  • On boarding new hires in payroll, archiving terminated employees Track and record annual elections of employees as well as changes during the year for all benefit deductions (i.e.; various Health Insurance, 401K, HSA, FSA,
  • Retrieving payroll data for, for employment verifications, mortgage refinancing and salary confirmations on current and former employees
  • Ability to create Excel spreadsheets from Paychex data

HR Administration/Benefits Administration

Under supervision of HR Manager

  • Enter, track and terminate Cobra insurance for former Be trained to enter new employees and track changes to Oxford, Aetna, Guardian, Unum and OCA (flexible spending)
  • Assist HR Manager is creating annual census information for 401K discrimination testing, medical renewal, ACA requirements (1095/1094s) and EEOC compliance
  • contact carriers to retrieve late invoices to ensure timely payment; consider automation of this responsibility
  • Work with broker changes or additions during open medical enrollments
  • Track employees for required notices under ACA for annual notices and new employees
  • Assist the Human Resources Manager with special and annual projects, including Health Insurance Renewal, annual 401K testing, insurance rebates and 401K changes

The candidate should have some prior payroll and medical insurance background with strong attention to detail, strong excel skills and attention to detail.
