UJA-Federation Of New York Honors Steven A. Horowitz, Esq.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Garden City, New York; October 14, 2004 — Steven A. Horowitz, special tax counsel at the Garden City law firm of Moritt Hock Hamroff & Horowitz LLP is being honored by the UJA-Federation of New York at the 2005 East Nassau Suffolk County Inaugural Dinner on October 26, 2004.

Mr. Horowitz is being recognized for his outstanding commitment and generosity to the Jewish community through his professional, philanthropic and charitable endeavors. He has served a three-year term as president of the Suffolk Association for Jewish Educational Services (SAJES) and 11 years on its board, and has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Suffolk Y Jewish Community Center, the Gurwin Jewish Geriatric Center, and UJA Federation’s Young Leadership Cabinet and Long Island Program Services Cabinet. In addition, Mr. Horowitz also serves on several New York City and Long Island communal organizations, including United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Suffolk, the Long Island United Way Leadership Council, the Planned Giving Committee of the Long Island Authorities Foundation, and the Cardiac Leadership Committee of North Shore University Hospital. Mr. Horowitz also devotes time to teaching and is currently a Special Professor in estate planning and partnership tax law at Hofstra University School of Law.

Steven A. Horowitz serves as special tax counsel at Moritt Hock Hamroff & Horowitz LLP where he heads the firm’s Tax Trust and Estates practice group. Mr. Horowitz concentrates his practice primarily in the areas of estate planning, estate administration, elder law, income tax planning and business planning for closely held business entities, securities and general business practices.
