Moritt Hock & Hamroff Continues Growth Of Its Garden City & New York City Offices

Garden City, NY; October 9, 2013 —  Marc L. Hamroff, managing partner of Moritt Hock & Hamroff, is pleased to announce the continued growth of the firm’s Garden City and New York City offices with the addition of David A. Pentlow, Jennifer Ecker and Moira A. Jabir.  David Pentlow joins the firm as a partner in its Corporate & Securities practice group, Jennifer Ecker joins the firm as special counsel in its Litigation practice group and Moira A. Jabir joins the firm as an associate in its Trusts & Estates practice group. Mr. Pentlow will reside in the firm’s New York City office and Ms. Ecker and Ms. Jabir will both reside in the firm’s Garden City office.

David A. Pentlow concentrates his practice in corporate law, securities and financial services transactional and regulatory matters.  The scope of his practice is diverse and includes the representation of hedge funds, financial institutions, and issuers (from start-ups to established public companies) in a range of industries, in connection with securities offerings and other finance transactions, fund and product launches, derivatives, and regulatory compliance (including SEC, FINRA, CFTC and bank regulatory matters).  His practice includes clients in a range of industries, with a particular emphasis on financial services and REITs.  In addition, Mr Pentlow also represents not-for-profit corporations in connection with formation, federal tax exemption applications, and ongoing compliance with state and federal laws applicable to charities and nonprofit organizations.  He earned his J.D. from Georgetown University and his B.A. from Harvard University. He is admitted to practice in New York and Massachusetts.  Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Pentlow was a partner in a prominent New York City firm.

Jennifer Ecker has over 15 years of experience in litigating complex commercial disputes. Her practice includes drafting and negotiating commercial leases, supervising commercial and residential real estate closings, counseling clients on landlord/tenant legal issues, as well as New York condominium and cooperative law and New York City Loft Board issues.  She earned her J.D. from New York Law School and is admitted to practice in New York.  Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Ecker was associated with a prominent New York City firm.

Moira A. Jabir concentrates her practice in various trust and estate matters, including the drafting of will and trust agreements, estate and gift taxes, estate administration, post-mortem estate planning, formation and representation of charitable foundations and the representation of fiduciaries and beneficiaries in numerous litigated matters, including contested probate and accounting proceedings and gift and estate tax audits.  She earned her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law and her LL.M from American University Washington College of Law. She is admitted to practice in New York and Maryland.  Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Jabir was an associate at a prominent Long Island firm.
