Joins Moritt Hock Hamroff & Horowitz LLPFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Garden City, New York, February 12, 2009 — The law firm of Moritt Hock Hamroff & Horowitz LLP with offices on Long Island and Manhattan has announced that William M. Heberer has joined the firm as a Partner in its Marketing & Advertising Law and Intellectual Property, Unfair Competition & Licensing Practice Groups. “We are delighted to welcome Bill to the firm” stated Managing Partner, Marc Hamroff. “Bill’s addition brings tremendous value to the firm and increases our capacity in, and evidences our commitment to, our growing Marketing, Advertising and Intellectual Property practice. My partners and I look forward to working with him as we continue to expand and grow our practice.” Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Heberer was a Partner at the law firm of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP in Manhattan. Mr. Heberer concentrates his practice in the areas of marketing, advertising, internet, gaming and intellectual property law. His clients include national advertisers, direct-to-consumer and affinity marketers, internet retailers, fantasy sports and skill gaming sites, ad agencies, media companies and loyalty program operators. He advises clients with respect to compliance with a variety of laws, including those relating to consumer protection, telemarketing, e-mail, and other direct marketing campaigns, e-commerce, privacy and data security. Mr. Heberer represents clients before regulators such as the Federal Trade Commission, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and the New York Consumer Protection Board. He also represents litigants in federal trademark, copyright, unfair competition and right of publicity actions and inter partes proceedings before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. In addition to his practice, Mr. Heberer is a frequent speaker on advertising, marketing and intellectual property issues and has been quoted in periodicals such as Sports Illustrated, USA Today, Dallas Morning News and San Francisco Chronicle, and interviewed on CNN, CNBC, and NY1. He served as the legal columnist for CRMXchange.com and co-authored “Intellectual Property, Due Diligence and Security Interest Issues In Mergers and Acquisitions”, a chapter from the book Intellectual Property Assets in Mergers and Acquisitions published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc. He is also a contributor to the American Bar Association’s soon-to-be published Consumer Protection Law Developments treatise. Mr. Heberer earned his J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law where he was managing editor of the Law Review and his M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University.
