Leslie A. Berkoff Named Co-Editor In Chief Of ABI Healthcare Bankruptcy Manual

Garden City, New York; August 11, 2011— Leslie A. Berkoff, a partner at the Garden City law firm of Moritt Hock & Hamroff LLP, was recently named by the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) as Co-Editor In Chief of its Healthcare Bankruptcy Manual, Second Edition.

The American Bankruptcy Institute is the largest multi-disciplinary, non-partisan organization dedicated to research and education matters related to insolvency.
Ms. Berkoff is a partner at Moritt Hock & Hamroff LLP where she also serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s Litigation and Bankruptcy practice groups.  She concentrates her practice in the area of bankruptcy and restructuring litigation and corporate workouts, and she represents a variety of corporate debtors, trustees, creditors and creditor committees both nationally and locally.  Ms. Berkoff served as Chair of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) from 2004-2008 and served on its Board of Directors for over ten years.  She also served as Co-Chair of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Healthcare Insolvency Committee from 2008-2011 and is currently head of Special Projects for that Committee. In addition, Ms. Berkoff currently serves on the Strategic Planning Committee for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the E.D.N.Y. and is an active member of the Nassau County Bar Association and a past Chair of its Bankruptcy Committee. She also serves on the Board of Editors of Pratt’s Journal of Bankruptcy Law.  Ms. Berkoff earned her J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law.
