Stephen E. Turman is an associate practicing in the firm’s Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Group and Litigation Group. Mr. Turman has a wide range of experience representing corporate debtors, creditors and court appointed committees in Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 cases. Mr. Turman is also an experienced commercial litigator practicing in state and federal courts. Mr. Turman has worked on a number of high profile cases during his career and represents national banking and lending institutions in matters pending before courts throughout the country. Prior to joining the firm in 2002, Mr. Turman was associated with the New York office of Brown Raysman Millstein Felder & Steiner LLP and the New Jersey office of Cole Schotz Meisel Forman & Leonard P.A.

In addition to pursuing a career as a debtor and creditors’ rights attorney, Mr. Turman is a member of the Nassau County and New York State Democratic Committee and has been a strong advocate for honest, fair, effective and ethical government. In 2007, Mr. Turman ran for public office on a reform platform and currently serves on the campaign and fundraiser for several members of the Nassau County Legislature. In recognition for his commitment to the community and to good government, Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi honored Mr. Turman by appointing him to the Nassau County Board of Ethics in May 2007.

In January 2008, Long Island Business News recognized Mr. Turman’s commitment to the community and to his profession by naming him one of Long Island’s 40 rising stars under the age of 40.
