Robert Schonfeld To Speak At Association For Community Living’s 28th Annual Conference

Robert L. Schonfeld will be a featured speaker at the Association of Community Living’s 28th Annual Conference on November 6-9 at the Sagamore Hotel in Lake George, New York.

The three day conference will cover various issues and topics relating to the day-to-day rehabilitative activities performed in community, residential and other settings for individuals diagnosed with persistent psychiatric disabilities.  Mr. Schonfeld’s presentation “Anti-Discrimination Laws and People with Psychiatric Disabilities” will focus on how providers and consumers can use the anti-discrimination laws (Federal Fair Housing Act, American with Disabilities Act, and New York State Human Rights Law) to obtain housing for people with psychiatric disabilities in the face of discrimination.  He will also speak on dealing with municipal officials, landlords, and condominium and co-op boards, the constitutionality of the New York City Rent Stabilization Code and related suburban laws, as well as the constitutionality of the Padavan Law.
